DMX Goddaughter & Power Star Page Hurd Tribute Late Rapper

As the grief from DMX’s passing continues, actress Paige Hurd has broken her silence on her godfather’s untimely death.

As a child actor Paige Hurd starred in Cradle 2 the Grave alongside Dark Man X in 2003. They grew so close that the actress chose the rap star to be her adopted godfather. Since he passed away, Hurd has remained relatively quiet while grieving except for a throwback video she shared singing to Taylor Swift in the car while DMX threw in da-libs. The clip was a tribute to their great times and beautiful relationship.

Now Paige Hurd has come forward to publicly mourn the loss of her godfather, and she seems to be struggling. She posted photos of her and DMX with big smiles hugging it out with a lengthy, heartfelt caption. “7 days prior…This is was the last time we hugged, we danced, we held hands,” the melancholy post reads. “the last time we said I love you. the last time I would ever hear you scream PUMPKINNN. when we are together we are inseparable, & we DO NOT play about each other. I just can’t believe this was our goodbye.”

She continued, “Shock has been my feeling the past month since I got the worst call in the middle of the night. The shock & grief is heavy, uncomfortable, and hard to express. I just don’t have much yet, forgive my silence. I’m trying but right now I don’t have the best words… I love you so much. I’m so proud to be your goddaughter. You are [a part] of my world and my heart aches terribly these days and will never stop.”

In early April, the Power actress attended the DMX celebration of life at the Barclays Center, as well as the prayer vigil that was held outside the White Plains Hospital while he was still on life support. As Paige, the hip-hop community, and the world at large continues to mourn the death of the great DMX, may his soul rest in eternal peace.

50 Cent Slams Irv Gotti For Saying DMX Overdose on Crack Cocaine & Fentanyl

50 Cent is calling Irv Gotti an idiot for saying DMX died from crack cocaine and fentanyl overdose.

Irv Gotti has recently found himself on the wrong side of fans after an outlandishly made claim that DMX died from a ‘bad dose’ of crack mixed with fentanyl. The record executive has apparently disturbed famous foe 50 Cent, who took to Instagram on Thursday (April 29) to attack Gotti for the statement he made a few days ago.

The “Many Men” rapper reposted a snippet of Irv Gotti’s recent interview where he said, “They said it was a bad dose of crack and they said some drug, fentanyl was mixed in the crack and that’s what made him overdose.”

It’s not certain whether 50 Cent is upset that the producer addressed questions of DMX’s death or that he thinks he is straight-up talking trash, but in the caption, the “In Da Club” rapper blasted, “This guy is an idiot.”

50 Cent and Irv Gotti share a long history of beefs and have traded numerous blows on social media over the years. As one fan pointed out, 50 might be taking this beef to the grave.

Meanwhile, many fans have been expressing discomfort with Irv Gotti’s claim, some noting that Gotti did not necessarily need to go public about the cause of the rap legend’s death, even if it is, in fact, true.

“Wrong or right is not his place to comment on that man’s death,” one person said. Another declared, “It doesn’t matter how he passed. He is still a legend!!!!”

DMX died on April 9 at age 50 after suffering a heart attack that was caused by a drug overdose. The late rap icon was open about his struggles with drug addiction. Family, friends, and fans focused on the life he lived and the contributions he made rather than how he died.

Irv, who is a co-founder of Murder Inc., was formerly DMX’s business partner. While multiple media houses have confirmed DMX’s cause of death as a heart attack caused by a drug overdose, the family of the rapper or the medical examiner has not released the type of drugs that the rapper may have been using.

Gotti has not yet responded to 50 Cent’s attack, and DMX’s family has not commented on Gotti’s reveal.

Jay-Z Says He Wants To Be The Bob Marley Of Hip Hop

Jay-Z says he would like to be remembered among the greats like reggae legend Bob Marley.

While the social media era has oversaturated the market with stars these days, and it has become easier to achieve fame, there still exists a disparity and certain levels of stardom that many can only dream of attaining. It may not be as difficult as it was in the past to become somewhat of a household name but to earn the title of a global star with an undying legacy is still no easy feat.

Some late celebrities from the entertainment world who will forever be in a class of their own, including Michael Jackson and Bob Marley, are still revered as astronomical figures whose success continues to inspire many generations after them. Even today’s biggest stars can only hope to leave such a legacy and go down in history as one of the greatest to ever do it.

In a rare interview with The Sunday Times, rap and business mogul Jay-Z talked about many things, including how the pandemic has affected him and his family’s connection as well as how he hopes to be remembered after he is gone. “I have no idea,” Hov began. “I’m not beyond ego, right? Hopefully, they speak of me [with] the names of Bob Marley and all the greats. But that’s not for me to say.”

Jay-Z has attained an inspirational lot and knocked down many goals over the course of his illustrious career. Already he is known as one of the most successful industry men in today’s society in many regards, whether it be for his billionaire status or his accomplishments as a business titan and hip-hop icon. Still, he hopes that all his achievements will be enough for him to be a staple in the history books as one of the greats.

During his interview with The Sunday Times, Jay also talked about how much more connected he and his family – his wife Beyoncé and their three children have become since the pandemic. “In the beginning, it was time for everyone to sit down and really connect, and really focus on family and being together, and take this time to learn more about each other,” he explained. “And then, as it wore on, it’s like, ‘OK, all right, what is the new normal?’ If anything came from this, it’s that we have to recognize that we’re all connected. It’s a metaphor for how connected we are.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Jay-Z also dispelled rumors that he had purchase DMX’s masters to gift it to the departed rapper’s children. “No one has bought Earl’s masters,” the rapper clarified. “Additionally, we are not selling any merch or raising money for Earl’s funeral. If anyone is requesting for money for his funeral please be aware the person is a scammer. We will keep the public posted on funeral/memorial service arrangements.”

Jay-Z is known as one of the greats in the music industry right now but do you think he will be remembered as such – regarded in widespread discourse as parallel to the likes of Bob Marley?

Kanye West Helped Raised $1 Million For DMX Children

Kanye West has raised $1 million in t-shirt sales for the family of DMX. The news comes a day after the late rapper was laid to rest.

According to reports, Yeezy collaborated with Balenciaga to design a t-shirt in memory of ‘X,’ and the proceeds of the sale is being donated to the late rapper’s family. The t-shirts, which were priced at $200, all sold out within 24 hours after the announcement was made on DMX’s official Instagram page.

The late rapper was memorialized at an intimate private funeral at the Christian Cultural Center in Brooklyn on Sunday as family members and close friends reminisce on the life of the rapper and his infectious personality and principles in spite of his challenges as a drug addict over the years.

Among those attending were his ex-wife and fiancée, along with key members of the rap fraternity, including Kanye West, who attended the Barclays Center Memorial on Saturday. West is said to have assisted with the production aspect of the program, which included hiring talented visual artist Akeem Smith who designed the stage layout to honor DMX.

The t-shirt, while a commemorative piece, is a symbol of the impact DMX has had on many people over the many decades he has been around. His music is highly influential even after death. The shirt, which is a black long-sleeved cut t-shirt, features an image of DMX with crosses on his shoulder and his birthdate, and the date of his death is inscribed on the sleeves. Graphics that read “in loving memory” is printed on the back of the shirt.

The late rapper is survived by 15 children, including several minors. He died after suffering a heart attack brought on by a drug overdose earlier this month. He was 54 years old.

Rick Ross Says DMX’s Death Should Motivate Other Rappers

Rick Ross opened up about DMX and why his death should motivate other rappers.

There’s no doubt that the loss of DMX has left a gaping hole of wisdom in the Hip Hop community. Several fans and rappers have come out in praise of the troubled rapper’s advice and candid moments while he shared his life with them. Another veteran in the industry, Rick Ross, has also been affected by the rapper’s death and thinks that his life should be used as a learning experience for rappers.

Da Boss was speaking on the People Every Day podcast yesterday, April 26, when he shared about his experience while working on the set of the 1960s Harlem-inspired video shoot for his Swizz Beatz and DMX collaboration “Just in Case.” That track ended up on the Godfather of Harlem soundtrack in 2019.

“I got to see the funny side of him, we got to laugh at a few jokes. I saw him really focused and turned up. And hearing about his addiction many years ago, being in the industry, it’s something that’s been in my heart the most,” he said.

Rick Ross has an acute understanding of addiction since it has haunted his family for many years. He has also had his own troubles with addiction in the past. In March 2018, he was hospitalized after suffering seizures.

In 2019 during an interview with People magazine, he admitted that the seizures were caused by a combination of things, including drug use. At that time, he said: “It was the codeine. That mixed with the things I was drinking, the other drugs I was doing, and on top of not resting. [I don’t think] one particular thing would have killed me. But everything combined?” he said.

During this more recent interview, he opened up even more about how drug use has been a part of his experience.

“Me having family members that suffer with addiction, I understood the struggle that he was up against,” Rick Ross said. He added: “So it’s something that was really painful. Of course, I didn’t expect this. And it just hurt. So if anything else, it should motivate us. Let’s do what Dark Man X would have wanted us to do. Let’s turn up. Let’s go to the next level.”

Irv Gotti Says DMX Contracted Covid Before His Death & Reveals The Drug He OD’d On

Irv Gotti says DMX died from bad crack and had COVID-19.

The hip-hop community is mourning the loss of icon DMX, who died after a week-long battle in the hospital following a heart attack. According to new reports, the episode was spurred on by a drug overdose on bad crack. Irv Gotti, who signed DMX to Def Jam back when he was an A&R for the record label, confirmed in a new interview that DMX took some crack that had Fentanyl mixed in it which caused his overdose.

Irv Gotti also added that the rapper was diagnosed with COVID-19 when he got to the hospital, which exacerbated his critical case. The virus affected his respiratory system, which caused him to have to be hooked up to the ventilator, but Irv Gotti says X was already brain dead.

“He had COVID, too,” said Gotti about the famous departed rapper. “They said it was a bad dose of crack and some drug Fentanyl was mixed in with the crack and that’s what made him overdose. Then when he got to the hospital, he got diagnosed with COVID and he couldn’t breathe, so that’s why he had to get hooked up to the ventilator.”

DMX, whose real name was Earl Simmons, passed away on Friday, April 9, at the White Plains Hospital. The rapper was 50 years old at the time and died with his family by his side. X struggled with drug addiction and mental illness for many years but was an inspiration to the entire hip-hop community because of his commitment to reform.

“Earl was a warrior who fought till the very end. He loved his family with all of his heart and we cherish the times we spent with him,” his family said in a statement after his death. It was first denied that DMX actually had COVID, but according to Irv Gotti, the rapper did, in fact, contract the deadly virus before he died. May DMX’s soul continue to rest in peace.

Diddy Gets Called Out By Black Rob’s Manager For Not Helping To Save His Life

Diddy is under fire by Black Rob’s manager, who he felt could have done more to help the rapper during his lifetime.

Black Rob, who is a former Bad Boy rapper, passed away on April 17 at the Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. He was only 52, but his short life was plagued by numerous health issues that ultimately led to his life being cut short. It also seems that the rapper was in financial ruin. He disclosed before his death at he was facing homelessness. It’s speculated that the cost of his medical treatments brought him to that state, and if he had had the financial resources, he could have been able to get a kidney transplant to save his life.

While the fans of the rapper and his family are in mourning, many, however, are lashing out at Diddy, who they feel should have acted sooner if he truly cared for the rapper. Diddy came out days ago and said he would pay the funeral expenses of the late rapper to ensure he had a dignified send-off, but fans and Black Rob’s former manager are not happy with Diddy seeming to profit from the attention of the rapper’s death.

The late rapper’s manager Kal Dawson says Diddy’s assistance comes too little, too late. During an interview on the Murder Master Music Show, Dawson mused on why only now Diddy has stepped up to assist. According to him, Diddy had reached out earlier when the first video of Black Rob came out, but he didn’t act, which might have made a difference.

“Through somebody else that was affiliated with Rob, Diddy reached out and was gonna do something for Rob, this is when the video first went up when he was in the hospital,” he explains. “People draggin’ their feet and nothing got done. So now you gonna pay for his funeral, he dead and gone now! Everybody wanna do something for you when you are dead and gone!”

Both Black Rob and Diddy had a seemingly close relationship while the former was under Bad Boy management. However, Black Rob later ditched the label after he said they neglected him while he was in prison, even though one of his hits helped to save the label, which was struggling with keeping some of its big-name artists due to Diddy’s bad blood with them.

The two were not friends or on speaking terms until Black Rob was in the hospital fighting for his life, or so it appears from news surrounding the time Diddy reached out.

Dawson says the initial video of Black Rob in the hospital that sparked concern was filmed by him.

“I’m the one that was in the hospital and put him on video and it went viral,” he says. “I did that I was there with him. A lot of people that could’ve helped didn’t help. That’s why I put the video up to show ’em that everybody wanna keep shit hush-hush, but he is not getting no help.”

He said money might have changed the late rapper’s fate. “Who is gonna put two or three hundred thousand dollars behind this man? They’ll take that money and go buy a guy or finance or lease a Rolls-Royce or Lamborghini to ride around, look pretty, because that is something for them.”

He added, “You can’t tell people what to do with their money, but a lot of people that were in position to help but they didn’t and it was too late because he passed away Saturday, a week after DMX.”

Diddy Honors Late Bad Boy Rapper Black Rob Who Died At 51

Diddy is honoring late Harlem-based rapper Black Rob who passed away at the age 51.

The rap veteran’s death was announced by Mark Curry, his former ‘Bad Boy’ label collaborator, and friend. “I don’t know where to begin this, but I thank everybody for the donations. Rob passed away about an hour ago,” Curry explained via a video. Just a few days before this announcement, Curry told the media that Black Rob was released from the hospital and affirmed that he was doing better, thanking the public for their concern.

News of the “Whoa” rapper’s hospitalization came to light following the death of fellow rapper DMX, who died on April 9. Black rob sent tributes to DMX one day later from his hospital bed. During his speech, he shared just how much pain he was going through.

“Pain is crazy, man,” he said “It’s helping me out though. It’s making me realize I gotta lot to go on. I gotta lot to go on, man….I feel for everything about X. X, one love, man. Big love to X, man. That’s all, man.”

On April 11, Love and Hip Hop’s DJ Self, posted a video of Black Rob, whose real name was Robert Ross. He revealed that Black Rob was suffering from kidney failure and was undergoing dialysis and had suffered four strokes in five years. On top of that, DJ Self revealed that Black Rob was homeless and later that day announced a GoFundMe to assist the rapper. The money garnered was to help him “find a home and pay for medical help.” The DJ further explained just how tough it was on folks during the lockdown while referencing the tragic death of DMX. He said, “We’ve lost a lot [of] legends and we can’t afford to lose anymore.”

Friends and fans have been mourning the loss of the hip hop great who signed to the Bad Boy label in the 1990s. They took to social media to pour out tributes to the late artist.

DJ Self posted, “Lord knows I tried to get help, I’m sad to say RIP to Black Rob …. Passed away in the hospital in Atlanta …..” QTip said, “RIP BLACK ROB…. sad news hard week”, and Pete Rock shared his sentiments, “All this death in hip hop really SUCKS. RIP DMX & Black Rob! I can’t believe I just said that. Just don’t sound right. No time to grieve death anymore. X just died last week and BR today.”

Bad Boy leader Diddy also had some kind words for the late rapper.

“Rest in power King @therealblackrob,” Diddy wrote. “As I listen too your records today there’s one thing that they all have in common! You have made millions of people all over the world feel good and dance! You are one of a kind! GOD BLESS! Love. You will be truly missed!”

Master P Says Hip Hop Need A Union Amid Death Of DMX

Master P is calling on rappers to get together to prevent further cases similar to DMX’s case. He has suggested the creation of a hip-hop union.

While he said that he is also praying for the rapper, he told a TMZ cameraman that a proper hip-hop union could help a lot of at-risk rappers who need support from their own community. Master P also suggested that DMX’s, real name Earl Simmons, an overdose could have been prevented. He explained his vision was similar to retired basketball players who often become analysts or coaches.

“DMX is an icon. I just hate that we have to wait for something to happen to one of us before everybody really starts saying how much they care and love you. We got to figure out how to prevent that,” Master P said.

He added that it was time to have a frank conversation about the way forward for Hip-Hop artists who may be suffering. “The truth hurts– drugs done killed a lot of our great ones. It’s sent a lot of them to prison. I’m praying for DMX and his family. I hope that people start celebrating these icons while they’re alive. Imagine all the stuff that we could have prevented for DMX to help him. I feel like hip-hop needs some type of union. The NBA has it. What happens when a guy falls off after he done sold millions and millions of records? We need that,” he continued.

To get such a union going, it would take a new education drive on issues such as financing.

“I think it starts with education. I want to really start educating our people and letting them see that– even LeBron and KD, Kyrie Irving, everybody that represents Black Lives Matter, when the NBA talks about they’re putting money back into HBCUs, I want to see where that money go at,” he added.

He continued: “The education that we can invest in the next generation, we can prevent this. If you look at all the heroes and stars that we lost.”

DMX died on Friday, April 9, 2021, after spending a week in the hospital on life support. The entire hip hop community has been reacting to his untimely death with tributes from all over the world pouring in.

Yung Bleu Reveals He Might Be The Artist With The Last DMX Feature

Yung Bleu came under fire from fans accusing him of clout-chasing after reports surfaced of DMX passing away.

Legendary rapper DMX has sadly passed after being on life support for the last week in which time he never regained any brain function. Unfortunately, before his actual demise, a hoax about his death got started on Thursday (April 8) when comedian Luenell claimed the rapper had been taken off life support when she posted a premature RI.P message online. DMX’s manager, Steve Rifkind confirmed that the rapper was still alive at the time but not before R.I.P messages came pouring in on social media and even started trending on Twitter.

While the misinformation was circulating online, rapper Yung Bleu took the opportunity to announce that he might have the last DMX feature in the vault. Taking to Instagram to share a screenshot of a previous conversation with X where he invited the rapper to be a part of his upcoming album, Bleu wrote a caption that rubbed many fans the wrong way.

“HOPE ITS NOT TRUE ! I Hope I don’t GOT one of THE LAST DMX FEATUREs,” the “You’re Still Mine” rapper wrote in a since-deleted post. “I was gonna suprise [sic] the world with it on my album f**k. I don’t no if the news true but I’m praying for you Og. F*ck the music! I’m praying for you as the person as the father as the legend!” The post was reshared by DJ Akademiks inviting fans to weigh in on its crass timing and content.

“Weird way to try and get hype for your single,” one of the top comments read. “Bro worried bout the wrong thing,” another fan wrote. Others bashed Yung Bleu for clout-chasing in a distastefully unwelcomed way and said the collaboration was better left as a surprise. “This basically just ‘damn that’s crazy he died but at least I got a feature from him on my next album,’” one fan wrote, uncovering the nuance behind the insensitive post.

Yung Bleu deleted his post after Dark Man X’s manager confirmed in a video message that the rapper was still on life support on Thursday (April 8). Sadly, it was confirmed that DMX passed away on Friday (April 9), according to a statement from his family.

Do you think Yung Bleu was clout-chasing and lost some respect for using news of DMX’s death to do so?

Cam’ron Calls Out Derrick Jaxn Over DMX Tribute, Jaxn Responded

Cam’ron went in on Derrick Jaxn for posting a photo of DMX.

The beef between New York rapper Cam’ron and YouTuber Derrick Jaxn over a DMX tribute is continuing, as Cam’ron has clapped back at Jaxn. The Dipset rapper, who started the banter on Sunday, April 11, responded to Jaxn, saying the love guru should have never tried to “talk crazy” when he and his ex-girlfriend split.

Cam’ron and his ex-girlfriend, Juju, split from a 10-year relationship in 2017, and the “Hey Ma” rapper said Jaxn left some negative comments on his Instagram posts in the past.

This has fans speculating that Cam’ron’s issue with Jaxn may not be limited to just the DMX tribute. On Saturday, April 10, Jaxn posted a picture of DMX, whose death was announced the day before. Like most celebrities, Jaxn paid tribute with the post captioned: “Rest In Peace legend.”

Not long after, Killer Cam responded to the post saying: “This ni**a been low since he got caught cheating. Now he wanna resurface with this post. I know/knew DMX personally. He don’t f**k wit ya kind homie. Don’t try and use the sympathy card ni**a. FOH go figure out how to lie, trick more woman and sh*t on ni**a on ya own ni**a.”

A post shared by @mr_camron

The “Down and Out” rapper accused Jaxn of using DMX’s death for clout chasing.

The relationship influencer recently made headlines when he confessed to cheating on his wife, Da’Naia Jackson, which sent shock waves through the community of women and men who supported him.

Some hours later, Derrick Jaxn, undeterred, responded to the post saying, “Big homie, you acting like I cheated on you. This ain’t the type of event to use to voice your hurt feelings about me. Respect this brother’s legacy and his family more than you’re doing right now.”

It didn’t take long for Cam’ron to respond to Jaxn, saying, “You shoulda never never tried to talk crazy when me and my ex broke up. Our time was just up I ain’t get caught cheating, lying etc. U da biggest clout chaser I seen ni**a. U only seen this cause @theshaderoom posted it.”

Fans have been speculating that the DMX tribute might not be the reason for Cam’ron’s bitterness towards Jaxn but that this beef goes way back.

Jaxn has not yet responded to the rapper’s latest comment.

DMX Complete An Entire Album Of Work Before Death

DMX recorded an entire album of new music before his death.

The hip hop world is still in shock after the sudden loss of DMX, a legend in the rap game and arguably one of the best to ever grab the mic. Although DMX’s death will be felt among fans and music industry friends for many years to come, a forthcoming project by the Ruff Ryders alum has been confirmed by his friend and collaborator, Darrin “Dee” Dean.

During an interview with Fox 5 New York, Dean revealed that he and X spent the early part of 2020 working on a new album in Nashville following a road trip in an RV. Dee was not afraid to set expectations high for the project, saying, “It’s sad that he’s not gonna be here, but the music…This album right here is special. Like you probably never heard no music like you heard on this one that we did right now.”

From a public perspective, DMX seemed to be doing well in recent months. His manager, Craig Brodhead, and producer Swizz Beatz had both gone on record to report that DMX was healthy, motivated, and looking forward to the next chapter of his career. Speaking on the unreleased project, Brodhead said, “He was excited about it. He couldn’t wait to promote it and get out there with the music.”

The project was to be DMX’s first release following a new deal with Def Jam signed in 2019. The excitement surrounding the album was already heightened when X namedropped several of his recent collaborators during one of his final interviews, including Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Alicia Keys, Usher, and the late Pop Smoke.

DMX reminded the world what he was made of in July of last year when he went head-to-head and hit for hit with fellow rap icon Snoop Dogg on Verzuz, the incredibly popular music platform that stirred up nostalgia in millions of hip hop and R&B fans throughout the pandemic. Hearing X’s extensive catalog of hits hyped-up fans in anticipation of new music, and although DMX has tragically joined the ranks of talented rappers taken far too soon, he left us with the gift of a final album.

Additionally, X was reportedly working on a show about fatherhood in which he planned to introduce his kids to each other for the first time, and an HBO documentary featuring the rapper is said to have finished filming before his death. DMX passed away on Friday at the age of 50 after suffering a heart attack.

DMX Not Dead, Rapper’s Manager Dispelled Death Rumors

Steve Rifkind, DMX’s manager, has confirmed that the rapper is still alive and is urging the public to stop spreading rumors.

This comes after the “RIP DMX” hashtag has been trending on Twitter, with many fans speculating that the rapper has passed on. In a video posted on Instagram, Rifkin, who is also a longtime friend of the rapper, said, “Please stop with posting these rumors. DMX is still alive. Yes, he is on life support, but please, its not helping anybody by having them seeing these false rumors. Let the family relax for a night.”

Rifkind added that the public will be getting a statement from the family sometime tomorrow, April 9. While DMX is alive, after nearly a week of admission at the ICU of White Plains Hospital in New York, the 50-year-old rapper has been showing no signs of improvement. Reports are that the “X Gon’ Give It to Ya” rapper, whose real name is Earl Simmons, is suffering organ failure, and doctors see no signs of improvement and little to no brain activity.

The family of the rap legend is left with the difficult decision of whether or not to withdraw life support. Last Friday, April 2, DMX suffered a heart attack at his home caused by an overdose and has been in a vegetative state since. Reports are that after he was rushed to the hospital for nearly half an hour, he was deprived of oxygen, severely impacting his brain.

A prayer vigil was held for the rapper earlier this week outside the White Plains hospital, where friends, family, and fans prayed for the artist’s recovery.

DMX has been facing drug addiction issues for many years and was very open about his struggle. The rapper told the media that his first time using crack cocaine was at age 14 when he accepted a blunt from his mentor that was laced with crack. He found out what his mentor had done sometime later, but apparently, it was too late.

DMX had sought rehabilitation multiple times, including in 2019 when he did a stint and came back out sober. X told Iyanla Vanzant, host of the OWN series Iyanla: Fix My Life, that his drug issue was an ongoing battle.

“I will always have a drug problem. Just because you stop getting high doesn’t mean you don’t still have the problem, because it’s a constant fight every day.”

While his family is faced with a tough decision whether or not to take him off life support, DMX fans are urged to refrain from spreading false news about his death on social media.

DMX Remains On Life Support Despite Lawyer Claiming Otherwise

A lawyer who says he is representing DMX is backtracking off his previous statement that the rapper is off life support and breathing on his own.

The attorney admits that there is still a lot of concern regarding his condition. “It would be disingenuous of me to suggest that I’m not a worried man at this particular point,” the lawyer told Rolling Stone.

The “X Gon’ Give It to Ya” rapper, whose real name is Earl Simmons, suffered a heart attack caused by an overdose at around 11 pm yesterday at his home.

Richman told the media that he was hospitalized immediately and listed in “grave condition.” The 50-year-old artiste had to be resuscitated by medical personnel at the White Plains New York critical care unit.

Richman released a statement after the incident, “I received a call this morning that Earl Simmons was in the hospital, at the White Plains Hospital, and that he had had a heart attack, and I’m not sure how it was induced and that he’s on life support.”

It is not disclosed what the rapper overdosed on, but DMX has never been one to hide his struggles with cocaine addiction and has sought rehabilitation several times.

In 2017, the rapper reportedly checked into a rehab facility, and later in October 2019. He also did the same while he was celebrating the 20th anniversary of this platinum debut album, “It Dark and Hell is Hot,” on tour. According to The Grio, DMX said that the first time he ever used crack cocaine was at age 14 when his mentor gave him a blunt that he did not know was laced with crack.

In 2013 on an episode of the OWN series Iyanla: Fix My Life, DMX opened up about his issues with substance abuse to the host Iyanla Vanzant.

“I will always have a drug problem. Just because you stop getting high doesn’t mean you don’t still have the problem, because it’s a constant fight every day,” the rapper said.

Fans and colleagues are praying for the artiste’s recovery, hoping that he is not defeated in his everyday fight, even though it is difficult.

Celebrities including Tyrese, Casanova, T.I, Justin Laboy, and Trevor Jackson sent tributes to the artiste, urging him to keep fighting and the public to keep praying.

DMX’s lawyer later released a new statement saying that he was “given wrong information.” It is now being reported that the rapper is still on life support, although it is unconfirmed the true status of his condition at this time.

DMX Got Collabs With Pop Smoke & Griselda Coming On New Album

DMX got some collaborations on his upcoming album with Pop Smoke and Griselda

Just about every fan of rap in the 90s was familiar with the chart-topping work of DMX. He dominated the airwaves and had had some of the hottest records. Fans haven’t heard from the rapper in many years, while many have been clamoring for him to make a comeback. He was freed from prison in 2019 and seemed on the path back to the studio though nothing was ever truly confirmed. There’s new information that the rapper has confirmed that he’s turning to the game working on dropping his ninth album.

The news comes from Swizz Beatz, who revealed that following his Verzuz battle with Snoop Dogg, the rapper was inspired to return to the studio and start putting pen to paper. Even with the confirmation, very little is known about the anticipated album. He spilled the tea a little bit while speaking with NORE during an episode of Drink Champs.

NORE shared a brief teaser clip of the upcoming show that now has fans more curious than ever. In the clip, DMX reveals some of the upcoming collaborations in the cards. “I got the Griselda boys,” DMX said, sending fans into a tizzy. He adds, “Pop Smoke,” indicating that this is another possible collab. It definitely means that he’s embracing the new style of hip-hop. His brief responses elicited surprise from both NORE and DJ EFN. “That’s what type of new I’m doing,” DMX adds.

It’s an indicator of the direction he would like to take the album in, but he also admitted that he hasn’t ever met Pop Smoke. “The growling was just a coincidence,” said DMX, alluding to Pop Smoke’s signature style. NORE brought some humor into the interview and declared that Pop Smoke is basically “DMX and 50 Cent’s baby,”. DMX responded in kind and fired back, “But he would have the baby! He would have the baby! It would be ours, but he would have it! I get it.”

It looks like DMX is ready to take on the new world of rap, and fans are ready to welcome the raspy-voiced rapper back into the game.

Marlo – Last Time Lyrics (feat. No Plug)

[Intro]
Cook that shit up, Quay

[Verse 1: Marlo]
I went from making thirty off them hundreds to a nigga gettin’ money
I stayed standing, f**king bitches and stayin’ on top of riches, run them digits
Stop f**kin’ with them pigeons, I’m in the kitchen, really gettin’ it
I was sixth grade with a bag of midget, tryna flip it
Big bomb tucked, pistol armored up
And now I’m goin’ for nothin’
The J’s steal your dope, I’m tryna shake them folks
12 pressing on the block like whoa
Got a thirty-one in my coat
I ain’t believing this shit, you know the feeling when them peoples hit

[Chorus: Marlo]
I hope God hear me now, then last time
I ain’t prayed to you in a while but this shit tryin’
And a nigga hold they head up with a smile, face a trial
So them young niggas goin’ wild with them sticks, goddamn
The pressure come, that’s bullshit
I pray God hear me now, then last time
I hope God hear me now, then last time
I pray to God hear me now, then last time
I hope God hear me now, then last time
I pray to God hear me now, then last time

[Verse 2: No Plug]
How you want to drive, a water whip a straight drop
f**k the DEA nigga, and the state cops
They banned from the 9, they tried to take me from the block
I’m like an offensive lineman, every day I’m making blocks
In that Porsche Carrera 9-11, I’m gon’ drop the top
When your ho see all these diamonds man, she gon’ suck my cock
I’m like a crackhead in the game, sellin’ dope, I can’t stop
All them diamonds in my chain, man they doin’ the milly rock
I been ballin’ for a long time, you just thug to Pac
If you buy twenty-eight from me you know it gon’ hop
I’m like DMX and Ox, f**k a book I’m sellin’ blocks
I’ma straight drop everything, bitch I’m settin’ up shop

[Chorus: Marlo]
I hope God hear me now, then last time
I ain’t prayed to you in a while but this shit tryin’
And a nigga hold they head up with a smile, face a trial
So them young niggas goin’ wild with them sticks, goddamn
The pressure come, that’s bullshit
I pray God hear me now, then last time
I hope God hear me now, then last time
I pray to God hear me now, then last time
I hope God hear me now, then last time
I pray to God hear me now, then last time

Quadeca – Who Would’ve Thought Lyrics

[Intro]
Yeah

[Verse 1]
I don’t wanna be a ribbon in the sky
Living in disguise
Man I see the venom in the middle of their eyes
Better figure if you’re living or you die
Cause it’s time for you to finish your reply
I’ve been dealing with these guys
Better know that I ain’t black and I rap
So I guess I’m automatically wack, when…
Matter of fact…
I am better than like half of these actors
Outdated like a battery pack
That a Blackberry has on the back of its tab
My rapping has the wrath of attack to send a missile back to Iraq
Then leave a crack on the map
And I put my train of thought right back on the track
All these rapper out of breath
Hear that gasp like a motherf**kin’ asthma attack
Match match match, making flames when I swipe right
And I ain’t talking bout some crap on an app
Man, I’m blowing up with bars, like a TNT
Blowing up: TNT
With Bars: AT&T
I’m the one you may see on a screen
I won’t be passing out like, “Hey! Is he on lean?”
Nah, I ain’t about that
The music that I make is a motherf**kin’ soundtrack
To the dopest life, Big Sean, better bounce back
Everybody trine raise the stakes [Steaks] well they better take it outback
I got a lot on my mind and I’m not gonna stop for a red sign
Talking a lot ’bout the headlines
My death and the time left on the clock’s all I got as my deadline
Don’t open up shop by a set time
I ain’t DMX
I don’t read your texts
I may be the worst. I may be the best
All I know is, I feel obsessed
I feel depressed knowing that this shit is only temporary
Relieve some stress, cause shit is only temporary
Free will but others control what we feel
Evil, less clear than it looks in the cemetery
It’s getting scary, I vocalize
All that I hope inside
Social life over my goals in life
Posts online more important than my golden time
So many goals in mind, I cannot go behind

[Hook]
Who woulda thought that a motherf**ker’d hop on a UK vibe like I’m Drake?
Who woulda thought I’d be spitting all these syllables without making a single mistake?
Who woulda thought, I would be on the top, zooming passed like a car with no brakes?
13 reasons I’m gonna make these rappers kill themselves before they put out a tape
Who woulda, who woulda thought
I’m gonna be bigger than 11x Earth, too hot like I’m motherf**king Jupiter
I’m a new hitter, I’m a new spitter
Coming outside and they saying that I’m great
13 Reasons I’m gonna make these rappers kill themselves before they put out a tape

[Verse 2]
Who woulda, who woulda thought
That Quadeca would have moved to the top
I’ve been doing a lot
See me for the music I make. Not the views or the shoes that I bought
I mean who woulda thought?
That I’d go up up and away
5k to 100k in a month how I play
Motherf**ker think he running the game
See these haters, now they running away cause I’ve come here to stay
Come from the jump in LA
But a boy been coming up in the bay, where they utter my name
I’m like, man… What What do I say
To a friend who think we one in the same
‘Cause I’m done with the games
Saying this is f**king insane
Wanted bars, well no one can complain. Yeah they loving the claims
I got an abundance of pain
When I drop it, it just bust into flames, bust into-
Flames, yeah

[Hook]

DMX Meets Same Fate As Meek Mill Back In Jail For Bail Violation

DMX is destined for the same fate as Meek Mill.

The Ruff Ryders rap legend, whose real name is Earl Simmons, is back in jail for violating his bail conditions. TMZ reported that X failed a mandatory drug test after appearing in court this morning in Manhattan. The judge ordered him remanded in custody arguing that he was a flight risk after being tested positive for cocaine, oxycodone, and opiates.

DMX was spotted last week in a St. Louis airport bar boozing out while buying shots for patrons and preaching. Prosecutors played the video in court while arguing that is another clear violation of his probation. The rapper’s attorney, Murray Richman, didn’t have much to say to reporters except about this latest development in Simmons ongoing legal battle. “I’m saddened and disappointed,” Richman said. “We’ll have to deal with it accordingly.”

The legendary rapper pleaded guilty to tax evasion in November last year when he was released on a $500,000 bond. Part of the conditions for his bail was mandatory rehab which he completed but seems he is right back to square one where drugs aare concerned. DMX will remain behind bars until his sentencing for his tax evasion case on March 29th. He is facing years in prison for concealing millions of dollars in a scheme dated back decades, according to the New York prosecutor.

Last year November, Meek Mill was sentenced to 2-4 years in prison for violating his probation by popping wheelies in the streets of New York and getting arrested in St. Louis. Both charges were eventually dismissed, but the judge still sent him to prison, sparking a nationwide uproar from fans of the rapper and his celebrity peers including JAY-Z and Rev Al Sharpton. Unlike Meek Mill, DMX has a serious case on his hand and is likely to go away for a while. His plea deal may also play a part in his sentence.

DMX Released From Rehab Temporarily For His Fans

DMX is out rehab, at least for a little bit.

The rap legend is getting a temporary reprieve from rehab to go on tour. He has an upcoming concert in Albany on Friday where fans were worried that he might not show, but now we know he will be there for sure, TMZ reported. On Saturday, following the performance, X will be heading straight back to rehab which is mandatory. The former Ruff Ryders MC was also permitted to perform at a gig in New York City on Thursday night. After all he need to keep the money flowing in to pay for rehab and his pending tax debt.

DMX attorney, Murray Richman, says the rapper will required to travel for his concerts from time to time and will have a rehab counselor on the journey with him at all times. He has been granted permission to travel almost a dozen times already and has to go through a rigorous drug testing program while on tour. The rapper pays for the counselor’s travel expense and food.

DMX says he has been sober ever since rehab and it looks like rehab is being good to him because he has put on a little weight.

DMX Is Sober and Packed On A Lot Of Weight Since Rehab

DMX is not only sober, he has packed on a ton of weight since going to rehab and it’s pretty evident in the video clip below.

The legendary rapper checked into rehab in August after copping a deal with to avoid house arrest. Seems it was the best thing that ever happened to him because not only is he sober, but he gained over 40 pounds according to sources. A TMZ photographer caught up with the DMX today while going to court and asked him about his weight gain and the status of his tax evasion case.

The photographer asked him if its true that he put on 40 lbs and how much does he weigh now. “I don’t know. you have a scale?” X responded jokingly. He was later asked what kind of diet he was on and he said he eats captain crunch cereal. The entire exchange with the paparazzo was hilarious, but it’s X’s health and image that everyone is zooming in on. Before going into rehab, he looked frail and overall not in his best shape. But now he looks a lot more energetic and upbeat. So you can conclude that rehab has been good to him and he should probably do more rehab to ensure that he stays off drugs.

DMX is reportedly clean and sober and has been that way for weeks now, according to sources close to the rapper. He also got a big break in court recently when a judge gave him the green light to travel this fall to other states for touring so he can make some money. There are some reports that he is having some financial troubles and is next to broke because he has been unable to leave the state of New York for touring or any other reasons. He also has child support cases to deal with in court which also put some strain on his finances.

DMX Cops Deal On House Arrest But Must Enter Drug Rehab

DMX desperately want to be able to travel and perform on gigs so he cop a deal to be free of house arrest but in exchange, he will have to enter a drug rehabilitation program.

The rap icon legal troubles are still far from over since he is facing multiple charges for tax evasion. He was placed under house arrest earlier this month after failing at least four drug tests, hence all the more reasons for drug rehab. TMZ reported that a judge has signed off on an inpatient treatment program for DMX’s substance abuse problems.

X will still need permission to travel outside of the state of New York, but if the treatment facility is outside of the state then he can travel there freely. The rapper’s lawyer, Murray Richman, agrees with the judge saying that DMX drug addiction has become impossible to manage and he needs help. This will not be the first time the former Ruff Ryder emcee is getting treatment for substance abuse, but we all sure it will be the last. In April of this year, the rapper checked himself into rehab following a mysterious medical problem. Sources say he had overdosed on drug and collapse. Seems that rehab didn’t help him back then because just this month he failed four drug test in one day where drugs such as marijuana and cocaine were found in his system.

DMX has pleaded not guilty to the tax charges and if convicted he could serve some time in prison. X is reportedly working on a new album but there is no word yet on the release date or the title. Earlier this year Swizz Beatz confirmed that he has been in the studio with the legendary rapper working on a new project. But it seems his drug addiction problems may have played a role in the delay of the project.

REMY MA – Another One lyrics

Heard you callin’ everyone
Now call ’em back, ’cause I got another one
Heard you was kiddin’, sayin’ I ain’t havin’ none
But that’s okay baby, ’cause now you my son
They like, “Yo, Rem go in again”
My flow cold, her ink froze in the pen
You gotta go, you gotta go, lil hoe
I kick a dead horse till it don’t move
Don’t come around me, now I got the crown, see
I beat you with punches in 48, you Ronda Rousey
The wigs and nose, you a whole clown, B
I better not ever hear you say anything about me
I came from behind bars like a bottle girl
No candy bars, I raise the bar, I’m like a bodybuild
All blue Maserati, sawed-off lil shottie
Put blood in your head, leave your whole damn head red, Lil Yachty
Oh, and if you doubt that, you can catch me outside, bitch, how bout that?
When it’s dark and hell is hot, I’ll DM your ex
Sittin’ here now like, “Who I’ma DM next?”
I handle these bars like a BMX, Grrr
Get at me dog, DMX
And I’m waitin’ for a bitch to talk outta her neck
‘Cause we got pictures, we got videos, and we got texts

Already took a L, now you got another one
I secure the bag, now I got another one
I caught the W, now I got another one
Yo, what’s that shit you be sayin’, Khaled?
(Another one)
Already took a L, now you got another one
I secure the bag, now I got another one
I caught the W, now I got another one
Yo, what’s that shit you be sayin’, Khaled?

SonReal – No Warm Up

[Verse 1]

Locked down like Ye for three summers
Locked down like DMX when he peel out

Cause that 12-year old was me when I was looking for my dad like
Chicka-bow-wow, chicka-bow-wow, run it
So if you see me walking, come and say "What’s up" to Sonny like
Run it, run it, run it

‘Less you’re planning on doing it first try"
I dedicate this song right here to anybody yelling "Free yo mind"

You got n**as, but my ni**as know your ni**as
And what my ni**as know bout your ni**as they ho ni**as
Oh no, and I call em oh no ni**as cause the last thing them bi**hes said was, oh no ni**a
You’re about to go, ni**a
And the last thing your people heard was
Amen from the past and release the birds
We gonna end it with the word, may God rest his soul
And though it looks like he’s sleeping, to the touch he’s cold

(Repeat Chorus)

(Verse 2 – DMX)
Gimme the second chance, so respect the stance
You plan to go reckless and you make reckless plans
So, respect that we can dance
Bitch ass ni**a
Motherf**k you and your man, we can do it with the hands
F**k I need a gun for?
I done f**ked a lot of bi**hes already
So when it come to pu**y you just one more
Hit em with the 1, 4
That’s when you know a ni**as a bitch and he’s still gonna get the hand, but you like, What for?
Really? You want more?
I come through with the click, click boom – click, click, boom
Put it through your front door
Brains on the wall like paint
Cause I don’t need to know what it is as long as I know what it ain’t
Ain’t a f**king thing fake about me
The devil spent so much time ruining my life
What would the snake do without me?
Keep running your mouth and see what happens when a ni**a keeps running they mouth
They get knocked the f**k out, ni**a

(Repeat Chorus)

(Outro – DMX talking)
Real ni**as recognize real ni**as man
A real ni**a ain’t gonna go through the trouble of trying a real ni**a
Cuz he know a real ni**a will get down just like he get down
And he don’t want that headache
He’d rather push up on a soft ass ni**a
It mean’s something, technically, know what I saying?
He spot a bi**h ni**a from a mile away
And carry em just like, know what I mean?

We ’bout 4 Gs, jeans like 4 Gs
My car got Wi-Fi, I don’t need 4Gs
She say she want me, ay, I say she full of shit
She really want my green, but I only carry blue strips
Pull up to the front, you all know you gon’ learn
Niggas know it’s my turn
This how they flock on me, specially watching me

All I wanna do is put the cash in the rubber band
If I spend this shit, gon’ put it in my other hand
In my other hand, yeah
Got a lot of commas, my posse ’round us
They gon’ shoot ’til they last number
With 30 rounds, they just tryna round up
Money didn’t change us, we just counted louder
I used to make seven bucks an hour
Me and bad bitches didn’t get along
Now I ride around, heater stay on
I know it’s summertime but my chains cold
Please don’t hear my phone, please don’t hear my phone
Please don’t hear my phone, please don’t hear my phone
Now you know I’m on, now you know I’m on
I thought you heard, my phone on Do Not Disturb
Watch me
