Alice Cooper – $1000 High Heel Shoes Lyrics

Sometimes I drive all day, until there’s nothing left in my tank
(Shoo doowop, shoo doowop, ooh)
You know I’m breakin’ my back, but man I’m sure not breakin’ the bank
(Shoo doowop, shoo doowop, ooh)
I hope my ship comes in, but I’m pretty sure that ship done sank
(Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
I used to draw some cash, but now I just draw a blank
(Shoo doowop, shoo doowop, ooh)

She slides in cool and tall
She don’t wear no clothes at all (Ooh)
She’s dancin’ to her own kind of rhythm and blues
In a tiny dog collar and her thousand dollar, high heel shoes

I can’t pay my bills, can’t even cover all my bets
(Shoo doowop, shoo doowop, ooh)
There’s somе guys lookin’ for me, who are way past idle thrеats
(Shoo doowop, shoo doowop, ooh)
She’s on the line all the time and she’s amplifyin’ all of my debts

(Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah, yeah yeah yeah)
But, there ain’t one single moment that I cry or feel regret
(Shoo doowop, shoo doowop, ooh)

She slides in cool and tall
She don’t wear no clothes at all (Ooh)
She’s dancin’ to her own kind of rhythm and blues
In a tiny dog collar and her thousand, dollar high heel shoes

It seems my meager bank account’s becomin’ absolutely obsolete
(Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
And all my hard-earned money’s walkin’ round down on her feet
(Shoo doowop, shoo doowop, ooh)

She slides in cool and tall
She don’t wear no clothes at all (Ooh)
She’s dancin’ to her own kind of rhythm and blues
In a tiny dog collar and her thousand dollar, high heel shoes
High heel shoes
High heel shoes
Thousand dollar, high heel shoes

Alice Cooper celebrates his birthday today with the release of the single “Social Debris” from his upcoming studio album Detroit Stories.

Cooper has decided to offer “Social Debris” as free download for 24 hours from the website www.alicecooper-detroitstories.com.

“The single “Social Debris” is a gift to Detroit, to my fans and to myself,” Cooper said. “The track was written by the original Alice Cooper band. We never thought that we would ever fit in; the Alice Cooper band didn’t fit in with anybody, because we were doing things that no other band did.

“We didn’t fit in with the folk scene, we didn’t fit in with the metal scene, we really didn’t fit in with anything that was going on at that time,” Cooper said. “We just always felt like we were outsiders. We felt like we were social debris, we were in our own little world. So ‘Social Debris’ was just the original band writing a song about us, essentially. And it came out sounding like it belonged into 1971. That’s just the original band – you can’t change that, it’s great.”

Detroit Stories, Alice’s upcoming new album, is a tribute to the Golden Era of Detroit rock, Cooper said.

“Detroit was Heavy Rock central then,” Cooper said, “You’d play the Eastown and it would be Alice Cooper, Ted Nugent, the Stooges and the Who, for $4! The next weekend at the Grande it was MC5, Brownsville Station and Fleetwood Mac, or Savoy Brown or the Small Faces. You couldn’t be a soft-rock band or you’d get your ass kicked.”
