The withdrawal of the peacekeeping contingent of the CSTO countries should be completed on January 19, said Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu at a meeting with President Vladimir Putin.
“ We start the withdrawal today. Tomorrow, we will withdraw all the forces of our colleagues: Armenia, Tajikistan, Belarus, on board 14. Kyrgyz colleagues come out & mdash; considering that they are nearby, & mdash; under its own power. Further, within five days, as the objects are transferred, the withdrawal of the remaining peacekeeping forces will also be carried out. We plan to complete all work on the 19th '', & mdash; he said.
Shoigu said that the peacekeepers took under protection 14 communication facilities, energy facilities, facilities that are responsible for the vital activity and legal capacity of the state. Subsequently, the list of protected objects was expanded. Thanks to this, the power structures of Kazakhstan were able to release about 1,600 employees who were able to take part in the fight “ against the bandits who brought this chaos to the republic, '' the minister said.
During the meeting, Putin noted a very important role, which the peacekeeping forces played in stabilizing the situation in Kazakhstan.
