Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Representatives of Li Zhanshu will visit Russia and take part in the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), Xinhua News Agency reports.
“The Chairman of the Standing Committee of the NPC will pay an official friendly visit to Russia, Mongolia, Nepal and South Korea from September 7 to 17 and will take part in the plenary session of the VII Eastern Economic Forum in Russia”,— The report says.
The agency pointed out that the invitation to visit Russia on an official visit in September was sent to the Speaker of the Chinese Parliament by Chairman of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.
VII Eastern Economic Forum will be held on 5–8 September in Vladivostok.
Earlier, the head of the Ministry for the Development of the Far East, Alexei Chekunkov, said that in 2022, delegations from countries that Russia recognized as unfriendly, including Japan and South Korea, will arrive at the EEF.
According to Chekunkov, Russia in unfriendly countries « I have friends and there are many of them. “At the working level, the Japanese, the Koreans, many other people are expressing their support— not just pragmatism and a constructive approach, but support,»,— he emphasized.
